PROF. MADYA DR. MOHD. NAHAR AZMI MOHAMED

Assoc. Prof Dr. Mohd Nahar Azmi Mohamed is the Head of Sports Medicine, Senior Lecturer and Consultant Sports Physician in the Department of Sports Medicine, University Malaya/University Malaya Medical Center. A visiting Consultant Sports Physician at National Heart Institute. Advisory Members of National Coach Academy, Panel Expert for Institute Youth Research (IYRES), Panel Members for Malaysian Physical Activity Guideline. His Certified Aerobics Instructor, Aerobic Master Trainer and Licenced Zumba & Strong Instructor Network. He undertook his training in Sports Medicine between 1999 to 2003 at UM and join as a Lecturer from 2003 till to date. He received his appointment as Associated Professor in Sports Medicine in October 2015. His interest is more on Exercise Prescription and Cardiopulmonary Exercise Test (CPET). His 10 years of research experience has focus on Sports Injuries, Wellness, Exercise and emphasized its health benefits in disease such as Cancer and endothelial dysfunction in cardiovascular related diseases. He also involves in collaborative work with Colorectal, Upper GI, Vascular Subspecialty and Anaesthesiology department performing a pilot cohort on Cardiopulmonary Exercise Testing for Risk Stratification/ Assessment and conditioning pre operation prior to a Surgery.
