Preparing and Submitting Your Poster
Overview
The poster sessions at ICS2024 are thematic. Posters will be on display for attendees to review and discuss with presenters. Each presenter will have 7-8 minutes to present their poster, followed by 2-3 minutes for questions from attendees.
Poster Specifications
- Theme: The title of the poster presentation and study must be themed “Coaching & Beyond,” leading to related fields.
- Format: Participants are requested to prepare a printed poster summarizing the key issues.
- Size: The allowed poster size is A0 (height: 120 cm, width: 90 cm).
- Font: Select a proper font (Times New Roman, Arial, or Open Sans) type and size to ensure readability. Open Sans font, it is downloadable at the ISN Website. (Muat Turun – Institut Sukan Negara (isn.gov.my)
- Language: The poster must be written in English.
- Layout: Use the bottom space of the poster for the names of the writers and supervisors. Place all the logos of the universities/ institutions, along with the National Sports Institute, the National Coaching Academy (AKK), and ICS 2024, at the bottom of the poster (refer to the poster example).
Content Guidelines
- Abstract: Include the abstract submitted to ICS2024 in the upper left corner of your poster.
- Introduction: Briefly summarize the background that led to your research, clearly identify the purpose, and state the research questions and/or hypotheses tested.
- Methods: Describe the experimental design employed to collect data, including the number and necessary demographics of the subjects studied.
- Results: Present results using tables, figures, illustrations, and/or photographs. Each graphic should stand on its own for easy interpretation.
- Conclusion: A summary of the implications of the findings, their significance to the field, and any recommendations for future research.
- Acknowledgment (if applicable): Identify funding sources, institutional support, and individuals who contributed significantly but are not listed as authors.
Display and Submission
- Title and Authors: The title, author(s), and institution should be prominently displayed across the top border with lettering height between 1 and 2 inches (2.5 to 5.0 cm).
- Readability: Use large, dark lettering throughout (such as Times 18-point font style).
- Simplicity: Keep tables and figures simple.
- Visual Contrast: Use strong visual contrast and consider color combinations/backgrounds.
- Quality: Ensure graphs and charts have labeled axes and a suitable scale. Figures and graphics should be high quality and adequately labeled with brief legends.
Submission Details
- Email Submission: Participants must email the research poster to rajashahzuryani@isn.gov.my by 18 October 2024 for review by the evaluation panel.
- Notification: Successful study posters will be notified via email. Participants are responsible for printing their posters and providing materials to display them (e.g., removable double-sided tape).
- Display Duration: Posters must be displayed for the entire duration of the symposium.
- Awards: The best 3 poster presentations will be awarded, with prizes presented during the closing ceremony.
- Registration: The primary (first) author, as well as the corresponding author and speaker of an abstract, should complete online registration (www.ics2024.isn.gov.my) and pay the registration fee before the deadline.
